Robert Jones | Vice President - Region 4 (Eastern)
Rob became a member of the IABPA in 2000 and has been on the ethics committee since 2013. Rob has been a member of the Waterloo Regional Police in Ontario, Canada since 1986 and has spent 24 of those years in the Forensic Identification Branch. He has been a sergeant since 2002 and is one of the supervisors responsible for the investigation of cases, and day to day deployment of forensic resources.
Rob started his training in Bloodstain Pattern Analysis in 1999 with the Basic course, beginning his mentorship- understudy training in 2000 with the Canadian and Ontario Police Colleges. He was certified as Bloodstain Pattern Analyst in 2004. Rob has investigated many Bloodstain Pattern Cases providing expert testimony in those cases, as well as Fingerprint and Shooting Reconstruction cases, at all levels of Canadian criminal court.
Rob has mentored a number of Bloodstain Pattern analysts in Ontario. He has also instructed at the Ontario and Canadian Police Colleges in Basic, Math and Physics and Advanced Bloodstain Courses. He has also lectured for Death Investigation Courses and presented at a workshop for the IABPA.
Rob is a member of the Canadian Identification Society, the International Association of Identification, The Association for Crime Scene Reconstruction, and The Fingerprint Society.
